Late August Transfer Rumours
With the transfer window nearing the end, plenty of clubs are still looking for a way to strengthen their squad or get rid of players no longer in their plans. We still have a few transfer window odds out, and below you can read about a few other rumours circulating as August comes to an end!
Isak – what will happen to the Swedish striker?
The Swedish striker has been creating a lot of headlines this summer following his demand to leave Newcastle for Liverpool. Having been left out of the Newcastle squad for their opening matches, there still seems to be a chance he will get his will and be off to Liverpool. Our odds of him ending up playing for the reigning champions is currently at 1.65, while him staying at Newcastle is currently at 1.87.
With next year’s WC approaching, there is no question that Isak wants to get himself settled and playing again, but Newcastle seem to be determined to wait until they potentially get an offer they’re 100% happy with.
Will Isak end up staying and having to make amends with the Newcastle supporters, or is the Liverpool move finally happening in the coming days?
Italian Switcheroos?
Gasperini has taken over Roma, and there is certainly a lot of optimism around the club, not only considering his success at Atalanta, but also due to the fact that they’ve so far kept their most important players. Dybala, Manu Koné, Mancini and their highly regarded goalkeeper Mile Svilar all seem happy in the capital club, so the focus is now on the final adjustments to the squad before the transfer window closes.
The latest rumour is a striker exchange with AC Milan, where Artem Dovbyk, who arrived from Girona to Roma last summer will be used in a swap for AC Milan’s Santiago Giménez. Neither of the two have met their expectations after their move to Italy, and a switch could be on the cards.
Other Rumours
Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise is apparently on the radar of both PSG and Liverpool, but the English winger is only one year into his contract at Bayern Munich, meaning it would be an expensive deal if one is to be made. Spurs are eying Ademola Lookman, with the Atalanta and Nigeria striker possibly looking for a move away from Bergamo.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson has had his ups and downs at Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are said to be interested in his services, possibly on loan, while Liverpool are still eying Guehi from Crystal Palace.
With only a few more days left of the transfer window, what are your dream signings this summer?
