The Three Lions topped Group L despite attracting some criticism for their performances, while DR Congo arrive full of confidence after reaching the knockout rounds for the first time in their history. Match Analysis
England have yet to hit top gear in North America, but they continue to find ways to win. There were moments of frustration in the group stage, particularly before half-time against Panama, yet the quality within Tuchel’s squad eventually made the difference. Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham settled that match after the break, securing first place in the group and extending England’s unbeaten competitive run under their German head coach.

England are expected to be without Jarell Quansah after the defender suffered an ankle injury against Panama, while Reece James also remains unavailable.
That should open the door for Djed Spence to start at right-back, with Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford both expected to retain their places if fit. Kane will once again lead the attack as he continues his pursuit of more tournament records.
DR Congo have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game. Desabre could return to the 5-3-2 system used earlier in the tournament, with Steve Kapuadi potentially replacing Brian Cipenga. Fiston Mayele has strengthened his case for a starting role after scoring in the final group match, although Cedric Bakambu’s experience remains a major asset alongside Yoane Wissa.
