Title Showdown in Dortmund

Signal Iduna Park hosts the second Der Klassiker of the 2025–26 season as Borussia Dortmund welcome Bayern Munich on Saturday evening. With 11 rounds remaining, eight points separate the sides — Bayern lead the table, while Dortmund sit second on 52 points. A victory for the visitors would effectively deal a major blow to their rivals’ title ambitions.

Match Analysis

Dortmund rescued a point after trailing 0–2 against RB Leipzig last weekend, but the performance raised concerns. More troubling was the 1–4 defeat to Atalanta in the CL, where BVB were eliminated despite previously leading 2–0 on aggregate. Conceding six goals across their last two matches stands in stark contrast to the five they allowed in the six games prior.

Still, their league form remains strong. Dortmund are unbeaten in 16 league matches, winning 11 during that run. At home, they have won nine of 11 games and conceded just eight goals — the best defensive home record in the division. They have also scored at least twice in eight of their last nine matches at Signal Iduna Park.

Bayern, meanwhile, defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3–2 after leading 3–0, securing a fourth consecutive win. However, the late goals conceded again highlighted defensive vulnerability. They have shipped 10 goals in their last eight league matches, compared to just 11 in their opening 15 fixtures.

Offensively, though, Bayern remain unmatched. With 85 goals in 23 league matches — an average of more than 3.6 per game — they are on pace to surpass 120 goals this season. The league record stands at 101, and it is under serious threat.

The reverse fixture in October ended 2–1 in Bayern’s favour. The last four meetings between the sides have produced one win each and two draws, underlining how competitive this fixture has been in recent seasons.

Bayern have won seven of their last eight away matches and are unbeaten in their last nine on the road.

Team News

Dortmund are without Emre Can and Niklas Süle due to groin and thigh injuries respectively. Ramy Bensebaini is therefore expected to partner Waldemar Anton and Nico Schlotterbeck in defence.

Jobe Bellingham and Felix Nmecha will play key roles in midfield as they attempt to contain Bayern’s attacking force. Serhou Guirassy has scored six goals in his last six matches, although he has failed to find the net in the last two. Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt provide additional threat behind the striker.

For Bayern, Alphonso Davies is sidelined with injury, meaning Josip Stanisic could feature at left-back. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic anchor the midfield, while Harry Kane — with over 30 goals in all competitions this season — leads the attack supported by Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz.

Odds and Tips

Dortmund’s home form suggests this will not be straightforward for Bayern. However, the visitors’ attacking output remains at an elite level.

Both sides score regularly, and defensive inconsistencies on each end point toward a high-scoring Klassiker.

Tip: Draw and both teams to score at 5.00.
